Sampson Mordan Sterling Silver Sheathed Propelling Pencil

This mechanical pencil is contained in a removable sheath. The pencil telescopes out from its case by pulling on the reeded barrel. The finial is round and does not unscrew. The stirrup loop on the sheath is used to hang from a chain. The pencil is stamped S Mordan & Co. Sterling Silver. The firm Sampson Mordan and Co. specialised in sterling silver mechanical pencils and pens and was in business in London from 1815 to 1941. It is in good condition and slides well. The sheath has some slight wear. 
Measurements: Length case - 2 inches (5 cm): Length pencil - 3 1/4 inches (8.5 cm): Weight - 1/2 oz (15 gm).
