This heavy pair of WMF convex serviette rings feature an embossed pattern of bunches of grapes and leaves on their vines. Each has a large blank cartouche. There is a tiny nick on the edge of one. Otherwise they are in very good condition. The firm WMF - Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik - was established in Esslingen, Germany in 1880. WMF became strongly influenced by the Art Nouveau style between 1900 and 1914. The firm used silver electroplating techniques known as "perfect hard silver plating" and this remains exclusive to WMF to this date. The items have the characteristic small impressed mark for WMF as well as I/O - regular silver coating and ALEMANIA. They are in excellent condition with no damage. Measurements: Height - 1 3/8 inches (3.5 cm): Diameter - 2 1/4 inches (5.5 cm): Weight each - 2 oz (55 gm). (The thimble is to indicate size).
