German Palmer Cox Mug

This bone china mug is decorated it with a pattern of mischievous brownies created by the artist Palmer Cox. It shows two brownies, one dressed in a top hat and tails being chased by another waving a stick. The other side of the mug has a bunch of purple and yellow pansies. There is also a purple pansy on the top of the inside of the mug. It has a very elaborate carved gilt handle. The piece is also trimmed with gilt around the rim and the foot. It has a German backstamp and we believe that it was probably made in the Dresden area but we cannot identify the factory. It is in excellent condition with no damage and rings very well.
Measurements: Height – 3 ½ inches (8.5 cm): Diameter top – 3 inches (7.5 cm).
