Pair German Eggcups
These are a pair of bone china eggcups. One is decorated with a cute yellow chicken’s head in relief and he has a little orange top hat. There is a fine orange line around the base. The other is decorated with a little blue and white bird in relief with a black beak and eyes. There is a fine green line around the base. Both appear to be peeping out through a window. The body for each eggcup is plain white. The imprint Ges. Gesch on the base is an abbreviation for Gesetzlich Geschützt - the German words used after 1899 to indicate that the items were legally patented or registered. They are in excellent condition with no damage.
Measurements: Height – 2 ½ inches (6.5 cm): Diameter top – 2 inches (5 cm).
