This heavy Ironstone china Rack Plate is decorated with the Masons pattern titled Oriental Pheasant. It features two pheasants sitting in a tree surrounded by brightly coloured flowers. The border consists of trees and flowers. The pattern is shown on a tureen in Goddens Guide to Masons China and the Ironstone Wares on page 140 where it is described as "early Masons Patent Ironstone  ... c. 1815-25". However, the backstamp on this plate dates manufacture to after 1862. It is in excellent condition with no damage and rings very well.
