Doulton Lambeth Match Holder and Striker

This quaint Doulton Lambeth match holder and match striker is modelled with an old man wearing a blue coat and smoking a pipe with his arm around a barrel which is the match holder. The striker is on the back of the piece. There is also an oblong receptacle under the man's feet for the dead matches. The figure was designed by Harry Simeone in 1925. The backstamp indicates that the series was introduced some time after 1912. It is in excellent condition with no damage.
