Ten Jonathan Couch Fish Prints - 1 A History of the Fishes of the British Islands
Listed are ten prints from Volume 1 of " A History of the Fishes of the British Islands" by Jonathan Couch. A further 10 prints are to be listed separately. Jonathan Couch (1789-1870) was a Doctor who practiced in Polperro, Cornwall until he died aged 81. He trained many fishermen to help him as a naturalist in ichthyology. His major contribution was "A History of the Fishes of the British Islands" in four volumes with coloured illustrations from his own drawings. One side of each print is a little frayed and one has a very small tear but the prints are in fine condition with no foxing or other damage.
