Ivory Crochet Hook

This is a rather long crochet hook made of ivory. It is marked on the shaft SIZE 3 (the SI have rubbed off). The finial has a pink tinge. Crochet comes from the French word for little hook. Crochet hooks are made in different sizes according to the size of the thread. The hook draws the thread through knotted loops to form a stitch. They have been in use since the early 1800s. It is in good condition with no damage.
Measurement: Length - 4 3/4 inches (12 cm).
