Royal Doulton Holbein Minstrel Jug

This early Royal Doulton jug is made with a technique developed by CJ Noke as Holbein ware. The manufacturing process results in a yellow background. It features a minstrel with a lute in low relief on the front and books and some jugs on a shelf on the other side also in low relief. The handles and rim are trimmed with green enamel. There is an impressed signature for Noke just behind the minstrel’s right elbow. The vase is slightly crazed. Otherwise it is in excellent condition and rings true when tapped.
Measurements: Height – 5 inches (13 cm): Maximum diameter – 4 ½ inches (11 cm).
