Glamis Thistle Creamer

Royal Doulton Glamis Thistle Creamer

This bone china creamer is decorated with the Royal Doulton pattern titled Glamis Thistle. It features a bunch of purple and mauve thistles with green and yellow leaves. There is a bright green edge on the inside rim. The top of the rim is trimmed with bright gilt as is the handle and the foot of the jug. It has the artist's signature on the creamer P Curnock. He was the Royal Doulton artist Percy Carnock. It has a special backstamp printed on the base which reads Glamis Thistle found near Glamis Castle Home of Queen Elizabeth. The shape of the piece is very Art Deco. The pattern number H4601 indicates that the jug was introduced in 1937 and the bone china mark 13 indicates that it was manufactured in 1940. It is marked Regd. in Australia. It is in mint condition and rings very well.
Measurements: Height – 3 ½ inches (8 cm): Width top – 3 inches (7.5 cm): Length top handle to lip – 6 ½ inches (14 cm).
