Mabel Lucie Attwell Bone China Fairies Dish

This charming Shelley bone china dish is decorated with an illustration by the well-known children's artist Mabel Lucie Attwell. It features a boy and girl riding a bicycle. They are accompanied ny a rabbit and two boo-boos. A verse is printed on the rim of the bowl and reads "Look at the fairies, How they can fly! But they cannot catch us, As we flash by". The rim is outlined in pale pink enamel. It has the Mabel Lucie Attwell facsimile signature under the front wheel. The backstamp dates it to between 1945 and 1966. It is in mint condition and rings true when tapped. It is great to find a piece of Mabel Lucie Attwell in such perfect condition.
