Copeland Spode Dancing Pigs Mug
This bone china child's mug is decorated with a finely printed scene of a boy playing his pipe to three dancing pigs on one side, and a boy and girl dancing on the other side. The mug has a spurred loop handle. The registration lozenge indicates that the mug was manufactured on the 28th October 1867. The manufacturers mark is for Copeland Spode as indicated in one of our Nursery Ware reference books. The rim is edged with gilt which is slightly worn commensurate with age. Otherwise it is in very good condition and rings well. Measurements: Height - 2 1/2 inches (6.5 cm): Diameter top - 3 inches (7.5 cm).
