Wedgwood Bone China Cocoa Pot
This fine bone china pot is decorated with an orange, black and gilt pattern of foliage and flowers. The pot is a hexagonal shape. Three of the panels have an orange background and the other three have a white background. These panels are also edged with gilt as is the rim and the handle. The metal lid fits into two slots on the edge of the rim. When the pot is tilted forward, the lid opens for pouring and when placed upright, the lid closes. It has a weighted round button underneath the bed which has the word Toft’s Patent printed on it. The backstamp indicates that the pot was introduced between 1878 and 1890. The metal lid could have a polish, but we will leave that to the new owner. It is in excellent condition with no damage and rings true when tapped. Measurements: Height – 5 ½ inches (13.5 cm): Width base – 3 inches (7.5 cm): Length handle to lip – 4 ¼ inches (11 cm).
