WMF Coasters
These three unusual coasters made by WMF feature two young Dutch boys and girls on the ceramic background with a metal rim. The firm WMF - Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik - was established in Esslingen, Germany in 1880. WMF became strongly influenced by the Art Nouveau style between 1900 and 1914. The firm used silver electroplating techniques known as "perfect hard silver plating". A ceramics section was introduced soon after 1883. The characteristic small impressed mark for WMF is the ostrich. They are in excellent condition with no damage. Measurements: Diameter each – 4 ½ inches (11.5 cm).
