WMF Cherubs Choir Practice Plaque
This beautiful small wall plaque features two chubby cherubs. One cherub is standing holding a music score. The other cherub is sitting on a garden wall conducting the song. Underneath the wall is a tree with blossoms, fruit and foliage and a tiny bird sitting on a bough. The firm WMF - Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik - was established in Esslingen and moved to Geislingen, Germany in 1880. WMF became strongly influenced by the Art Nouveau style between 1900 and 1914. The firm used silver electroplating techniques known as "perfect hard silver plating". The WMF mark is extremely difficult to photograph but appears to include B (Britannia-metal), O (extra thick silver coating) or I/O (regular silver coating) and OX (Oxidized). There is also a pattern number 11465. There is a hinged ring for hanging on the back of the plaque. It is in excellent condition with no damage. Measurements: Height - 8 inches (20 cm): Width - 4 3/4 inches (12 cm): Weight - 8 1/2 oz (240 gm). (The cellphone is to indicate size).
