Sterling Silver Cherubs’ Choir Ring Box
This rare Sterling Silver Ring case is embossed with the popular Cherubs Chorus pattern (see Article). The box is modelled on the shape of a coal scuttle. The front opens down to reveal a padded cushion with a slot for a ring. The cushion has the original velvet on it. The velvet has become hard but we are certain that a jeweller could replace it. The box has a hallmark on the back which has an anchor for Birmingham. The date letter is very worn and cannot be deciphered. However, there is a registration number 430769 which dates manufacture to 1904 or later. This is a very collectable little box. It is in excellent condition with no damage. Measurements: Height – 1 inch (2.5 cm): Width – 1 inch (2.5 cm): Depth – 1 ¼ inches (3 cm).
