Caravan Plate

Mabel Lucie Attwell Caravan Plate

This delightful bone china plate is decorated with an illustration by the well-known artist Mabel Lucie Attwell. It features a little man in a caravan surrounded by bunnies, Boo Boos, a tortoise and some birds. There is also a rhyme printed on the plate which reads “There was a little man. Lived in a Caravan, His friends were the Bunnies, and other such funnies!” The rim is trimmed with a line of pale blue enamel. The piece is in excellent condition with no damage and rings very well. For accuracy's sake, there is a 2 mm dark spot on the edge of the rim underneath the green Boo Boo’s right foot. The backstamp indicates that the plate was introduced between 1927 and 1945.
Measurements: Diameter – 7 inches (18 cm).
