Brass Violin String Gauge
This rare tiny brass Violin String Gauge has markings on one side that read Violin C.F Albert, String Gauge in 5 TH5 Pat March 1812 or 1815 – the last number is hard to read. It has four gauges numbered 1, 2, 3, 4 on each of three sides. On the left-hand side is the letter D, on the right-hand side is the letter E and on the lower side are the letters A G. The back of the gauge has no marks. The photos show scratches but these can hardly be seen to the naked eye. It is in excellent condition with no damage. Measurements: Height including ring - 1 1/2 inches (37 mm): Width - 1 inch (24 mm).
