Carlton Ware Blushware Floral Vase This elegant early Carlton Ware vase is decorated with bouquets of pastel flowers and pale green leaves on a blush background. The top of the vase features a band of cobalt blue with a gilt floral pattern and beads of turquoise and white enamel dotted around it. There is also a cartouche with a pale blue background and some small pastel flowers on it. The foot of the vase has the same blue and gilt pattern. The edge of the foot is bright gilt with a beaded effect on the edge. Some of the flowers on the main body of the piece are highlighted with raised white enamel The registration mark indicates that the pattern was introduced after 1885 but the Wiltshaw and Robinson backstamp was used by Carlton Ware between 1906 and 1927. It has the pattern number 1503. It is in excellent condition with no damage and rings very well. Measurements: Height – 7 inches (17.5 cm): Maximum diameter – 3 ¼ inches (7.5 cm).
