Doulton Blue and White Plate
This earthenware plate is decorated with a blue and white scene with a castle beside a lake and houses in the foreground with figures perhaps of a family. It has a wide border of cartouches of birds and flowers. Although it has the Doulton Burslem backstamp, the pattern number is D2963 indicating that the plate was introduced in 1908. Presumably an old Doulton Burslem blank was used for this piece from the Royal Doulton period. The plate is slightly crazed but rings very well. Measurements: Diameter – 10 inches (26 cm).
