Cauldon The Six Bells Inn Cabinet Plate
This beautiful bone china plate is decorated with a hand-painted scene featuring an inn named The Six Bells. The inn was situated in Bearsted, Kent, England. The name is printed on the back. The border consists of a beaded bright gilt pattern. There is also a ring of garlands of pink and yellow roses. Hanging underneath the roses are garlands of gilt dots. The edge of the plate is also gilded. This is a magnificent cabinet plate. The Cauldon and Co. backstamp was used between 1905 and 1920. The artist's name JH Plant is printed on the front lower right. John Hugh Plant worked at several firms including Cauldon and finally at Royal Doulton in the early 1900s. The plate is in mint condition with no damage and rings true when tapped. Measurement: Diameter - 10 1/4 inches (26 cm).
