Shelley Bone China Balloon Tree Cake Plate.

This fine bone china cake plate is decorated with the Shelley pattern titled "Balloon Tree". It features three stylised trees with green leaves and lots of brightly coloured fruit or balloons. There are some butterflies fluttering around the trees. The plate has a yellow banded border and the edges are outlined with dark blue enamel as are the two tabs. There are a few light scratches on the face that do not mar the pattern and can only be seen when angled to the light.  It is otherwise in excellent condition and rings true when tapped. It has the pattern number 11624 written on the base and the Shelley backstamp which indicates that it was introduced in 1928.
