Doulton Burslem Arundel Double Handled Biscuit Barrel

This Doulton Burslem biscuit barrel is decorated with the very popular pattern titled Arundel. It features a blue pattern of pomegranate leaves and flowers with touches of gilt around the rim. It also has a gilded base rim. It has a silverplated lid with an embossed finial. The pattern number A6758 was used before 1892 but the backstamp dates it to after 1891 and before 1901. The lid is in excellent condition. There is a 1 cm long firing mark at the base of one handle. Otherwise, it is in excellent condition and rings true when tapped.
Measurements: Height to top lid – 6 ½ inches (16 cm): Width handle to handle – 6 ½ inches (16 cm).
