Royal Doulton Dickens Ware Artful Dodger Dish

This earthenware oblong plate is decorated with the Royal Doulton series ware pattern titled Dickens Ware. It features one of Dickens characters, the Artful Dodger, from his novel Oliver Twist. The boy is seen in his hat and coat holding a handkerchief standing in a dining room. The plate has a special Royal Doulton backstamp. The pattern number is D2973. There is an impressed date mark 8-36 indicating that it was manufactured in August 1936. It is in excellent condition with no damage and rings very well.
Measurements: Height – 1 inch (2.5 cm): Width – 8 inches (20 cm): Depth – 7 inches (18 cm).
