Royal Doulton Anne Anderson Nursery Rhyme Beaker
This earthenware beaker is decorated with a nursery rhyme "Queen of Hearts". On one side of the beaker it features the Queen making some tarts on a table and the Knave behind her about to steal some tarts. On the other side, it features Jack and Jill with a pail of water. The words “The Queen of Hearts, She made some tarts” is written around the top of the beaker. This series is illustrated in the style of Anne Anderson and was introduced in 1916 and withdrawn by 1940. The date number 12 indicates that it was manufactured in 1939. It is in mint condition with no damage and rings very well. Measurements: Height – 4 inches (10 cm): Diameter top – 3 ½ inches (8.5 cm).
