Doulton Burslem Aesthetic Style Maidens Plate This dainty earthenware Doulton series ware plate is decorated with a pattern titled "Aesthetic Style Maidens". It features a maiden carrying a basket of flowers and holding her skirts. This was one of the earliest of the range of series ware that was to become synonymous with Royal Doulton. The pattern was introduced in 1890 and withdrawn by 1914. The backstamp was used between 1891 and 1901. This scene is recorded in Louise Irvine's Royal Doulton Series Ware book (Volume 3). It is in excellent condition with no damage and rings true when tapped. Measurements: Diameter - 9 inches (22.5 cm): Weight - 14 oz (400 gm).
